Meet the Founder
Nasrin
Hello, I’m Nasrin. For more than 20 years, working with children has been the joy of my life and the inspiration behind creating Poet’s Corner — a warm, home-like space where every child feels safe, supported, and celebrated.
I work with preschool children ages 2½ to kindergarten, using a Montessori approach that nurtures confidence, independence, and curiosity. As a certified Early Childhood Educator with Montessori training, I bring both experience and genuine care to our classroom each day.
I also co-lead our Before and After School Program with my partner, Abdul, whose calm and caring presence helps create a dependable, family-oriented environment for our school-age children.
Poet’s Corner is more than a program to us — it’s a community built on trust, kindness, and heartfelt connection.
Meet Our Preschool Program Team
Music Teacher
I’m so excited to be part of the Poet’s Corner team! Music has been a lifelong passion of mine, and as a board-certified Music Therapist, I love using music and play to help children explore, create, and grow. Originally from Nanaimo, BC, I have degrees in Clarinet Performance and Music Therapy. I work in the preschool program, helping children discover the joy of music every day. Outside of work, I enjoy travel, pottery, and exploring the beautiful North Shore.
French Teacher
Teaching French at Poet’s Corner lets me share the joy, creativity, and love of language that I’ve carried since my own years in French Immersion on the North Shore. I use games, songs, and playful activities to inspire children and help them connect with the language in a natural, enjoyable way.Outside the classroom, I’m often cheering on my kids as a proud hockey mom or working on my tennis game. Kindness, warmth, and positivity guide everything I do—I always hope to make every space I enter a little brighter.
Preschool Lead Teacher
I have the joy of working with our preschool children from 2½ years old until they begin kindergarten. My focus is to support each child’s confidence, independence, and curiosity through the Montessori approach. Creating a warm, nurturing space where children feel safe, understood, and excited to learn is at the heart of what I do every day.
Meet Our After & Before School care Team
Co-Lead
I’m Abdul, and I’m proud to be part of the Poet’s Corner community. In our Before & After School Program, I focus on creating a calm, safe, and welcoming space where children can unwind, play, and feel supported. I enjoy greeting them after school, listening to their stories, and helping them settle into activities that make them feel at home. Working alongside Nasrin, I strive to make each child feel seen, respected, and valued. Building warm connections with our children and families is one of the most meaningful parts of what I do each day.
